I do. One of them is sleeping in the bed next to me in the lodge at the Sun Valley Inn. And it’s been great. As a freelancer, I get to do many different things, but the most my children see of what I do is sit in front of my computer in a home office and head off to the occasional “client meeting”. This week I was fortunate enough to take my daughter to work day – and as a friend commented, “on steroids”. You see, this week I am doing event photography. I had my daughter running around with me, snapping photos, riding gondolas, waiting, waiting, waiting, and finally, editing shots late into the evening. Of course, we’ve taken a few breaks at the swimming pool, skating rink and Starbucks, but for the most part, she’s been busy watching what mommy does for a living. It’s been good for her – I think she finally understands this side of my work and appreciates it a little more.
Today will be another day of golf photography, skeet shooting and key note speakers, not to mention an evening banquet. But I’m sure that when she starts school next week, she’ll have a new appreciation for Scheer Marketing and, no doubt, vacation time. In the meantime, I think I’ve found myself a great little photographer and assistant!
