From Links to Lambeau: An Epic FAM, Indeed
FAM trips are not all the same. This three-day event I just attended, case in point, was an experience that will be hard to forget. With championship golf, legendary football and of course, my camera, what more could a girl ask for? Being the only female in the group, who doesn't play golf, you're probably wondering why I was there in the first place. Not that I wouldn’t enjoy the view, the food, the venues, or the lakeside beauty, the experience itself had TMN Events written all over it - and left me wanting to come back - next time with a set of golf clubs! So what, exactly, did these three days look like?
Sunday afternoon began with a quiet reception at the Champions Club at Whistling Straits, after watching the finals of the US Open that were taking place just an hour and a half up the road. As interesting as the golf tournament was, it was the fact that the entire golf course of Whistling Straits was ours for the night - courtesy of Destination Kohler and TMN Events. A magical, magenta blue sky and a 3 hole Horse race ended what couldn't have been a more perfect evening on the coastlines of Lake Michigan. As the group was then transported back to the historic, American Club tavern known as the Horse and Plow, it was a Father's Day for some, that would be one for the books.
Starting the day off with complimentary coffee at the antique solarium known as The Greenhouse, Monday turned out to be an insight into even more golf, foursomes with PGA Pro Golfer, Jim Empey, and more magical landscapes, giving us a taste of what is Destination Kohler and why its golf courses are so incredible. A trip to the Kohler Design Center also provided a glimpse into what makes Kohler the leader in design and innovation. Along with a facility made of sample bathroom and kitchen designs - the wall of multi-colored toilets remains to be one of my favorite displays of retail products to date.
But perhaps one of the best kept secrets of this property is its River Wildlife Private
Dining Club. A quaint, log cabin nestled along the Sheboygan river, this secluded little sanctuary was a haven for our group and provided a wonderful retreat for all of us.
Tuesday came with a bang, but the rain would not keep us away. Another private tour of the new Lodge Kohler opening in July 2017, directly across from the legendary Lambeau Field, was a hub of activity with a mix of contemporary furnishings and rich, green and gold accents reflecting the sports history of what is Green Bay. With private suites in direct view of the stadium - it's sure to be a favorite of all fans. Topping this day was another personal tour of Lambeau Field - one of the most iconic stadiums in sports. It's rich history and grandness brought shivers to all of us as we humbly walked through the Green Bay Packers' tunnel to the field that holds football history.
An extraordinary combination of world class golf coupled with a personal, legendary, football stadium tour and intimate, log cabin dining while sampling the best in wines and local cuisine? These are the kinds of events that TMN Events does best. It was an Epic FAM, indeed.
